RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: To analyze values-based leadership as seen through the prism of organizations and policies, and to try to grasp its functions in relation to other management models.
THE RESEARCH PROBLEMS AND SCIENTIFIC METHODS: The research problem in the article concerns the role of Value-Based Leadership (VBL) in the context of organizational functioning and the situation of the modern world, characterized by volatility and turbulence. The author considers how values can affect the way an organization is managed and developed, as well as its leadership style. The article uses the method of critical analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, while the comparative method is applied to the author’s own conception of various management models. The author also refers in some places to examples as illustration of theoretical issues.
THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The relationship between leadership and the axiological sphere is pointed out first, in order to then move on to the characteristics of value-based leadership. The author did this by referring to classical management methods. In the next part, the functions of the analyzed leadership and its relevance in the modern world were discussed.
RESEARCH RESULTS: The article identifies the main elements of value-based leadership and its differences from classical management models. The influence of VBL on the VUCA and BANI concept has also been demonstrated, which has not been the subject of scientific analysis to date.
CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS: Value-based leadership can become one of the ways of dealing with the challenges facing both modern organisations and states. The analyzed model primarily assumes an internal change in the leader, rather than the environment. Its application contributes to stability in the organization and the formation of positive internal relations.
