ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN RADIO BROADCASTING—PROSPECTS AND THREATS ON SELECTED RADIO STATIONS

Section: Articles Varia

Abstract

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article is to analyze the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in radio broadcasting and to identify the opportunities and threats associated with its use in content creation and editorial workflow. The study is based on a comparison of selected radio stations in Poland and the United States.

THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research question concerns how the use of AI influences the process of radio content creation, editorial workflow, and the role of journalists at selected radio stations in Poland and the United States.

THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article focuses on three main topics: forms of application of artificial intelligence in radio broadcasting, the effects of adopting these technologies and the place of humans in this process.

RESEARCH RESULTS: The results of the analysis indicate that artificial intelligence in radio broadcasting supports content creation, automates routine tasks, and increases the efficiency of editorial work. However, it does not replace journalists, whose creative role and direct interaction with listeners remain essential.

CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Artificial intelligence supports radio newsrooms and accelerates their workflows; however, it does not replace the creative role of journalists or their interaction with audiences. The gradual implementation of AI under human supervision is recommended, together with the development of creative and social competencies and the establishment of robust legal and ethical frameworks.
