Exploring the Future

Radosław Rybkowski

Section: Thematic Articles

Abstract

More then 125 years ago the Academy of Political Science published the first volume of the “Political Science Quarterly,” focusing mainly on defining the nature of political science and its importance for the future of the mankind. Since 1886 the world have faced more than just one revolutions, two world wars, growth and decline of fascism and communism. Historical events should lead us to another questions: what is (or should be) the relationship between history (as academic science) and political science? and how important is the understanding of the past for envisioning and building better future?
