RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The primary purpose of the article is to answer the question about the role of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in matters relating to the employment of children and adolescents.
THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The article verifies to what extent solidarity – in the context of children’s rights – means that the authorities of Member States around the world should be obliged to guarantee children and adolescents freedom from exploitation so far used through work.
THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article consists of an introduction, seven parts and a short concluding remark. The author emphasizes the role of the ILO in the employment of children and adolescents. It presents legal actions taken by this organization to eliminate child labour.
RESEARCH RESULTS: The some of wealthier Member began to act as donors determined to allocate significant amounts of assets to combat forced labor of children and adolescents.
CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Polish experience can be used as a model of measures and instruments capable of limiting forced labor of children and adolescents.
